Romantic Mohawk Braid Tutorial with Nexxus

Romantic Mohawk Braid Tutorial with Nexxus

I moved to my new townhouse 3 weeks ago with just 14 moving boxes and a pet carrier. I didn’t have a single shampoo to my name, so when Lunchbox reached out to me about the Nexxus from Costco collaboration, I was happy to accept.

If you guys didn’t know, Nexxus is a high-end, award-winning salon quality hair care brand, who’s been around for many, MANY years. I felt totally nostalgic when this name came up, because this is the brand that my childhood hairstylist used on me. It brought back a lot of fond – good hair day- memories.

Our house generally used what was at the drugstore growing up, since we were far from rich, so going to the salon, and getting my hair cut with all professional, luxury products was something I always looked forward to. I remember trying to not wash my hair for a WHOLE week – lol – to make it last (did you do that too?). Needless to say, I’m very fond of the Nexxus brand for these reasons, and am happy to tell you guys that their Oil Infinite Shampoo and Conditioner system didn’t disappoint me in the least.

Long Ombre Hair Color with Curls - MakeupWearables

As you guys can see, my naturally jet black hair has been bleached to kingdom come to achieve the ombre effect. Therefor, I always need to make sure that I’m using hair products made particularly for DRY, damaged hair, or it just ends up being a frizzy, unmanageable mess. No joke!

I like the Nexxus Oil Infinite; Rebalancing Shampoos and Restoring Conditioners (available at Costco for a limited time), because it has concentrated proteins that keeps my chemically weakened hair stronger, and oils which keeps it looking AND feeling incredibly soft. My hair looked so shiny after using it!.. I’m so glad that Nexxus is still a wonderful brand, and my grown-up self is able to collaborate with them for this quick & easy, Mohawk braid tutorial.

Cute Mohawk Braid Half-Up Hairstyles Tutorial

How to do a Mohawk Braid | cute Half-Up Hairstyles

STEPS

HOW TO MOHAWK BRAID YOUR HAIR | Half-Up Styles for Medium Long Hair Lengths

  1. After brushing your hair, use a 1 1/4″ curling iron to curl your hair.
  2. Grab a small section on your crown (image 3), and divide it into 3 pieces to start a Dutch braid.
  3. Start adding in small sections of hair from the side to the side pieces, and braid it under the middle piece.
  4. Continue Dutch braiding it all the way towards the back of your crown. Use hairspray or a hair wax to tame any flyaway of layers.
  5. Tie the braid with a thin elastic at the back of your crown.
  6. Pull out the sides of the braids to expand and make it appear thicker. (image 9)

This week’s hair video will go up tomorrow (Saturday). Have a beautiful day, loves! MUAH! xx Tina
